Recrystallization

Recrystallization (再結晶化, saikesshouka^?) is the name of a gameplay system in Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia which allows to convert items into Grathnode Crystals.

This system is first introduced to the player by Lyner asking the Dive Shop operators about item recrystallization after having crafted the Ionization Liquid for the first time, which will allow the player to make use of it at any Dive Shop in Sol Ciel.

The procedure for Recrystallization is quite simple and straightforward: the player goes to a Dive Shop, selects Recrystallization, and then chooses the item that will undergo Recrystallization. After paying a small fee, the player will then lose the selected item and gain a Grathnode Crystal in exchange, with the received crystal varying depending on the item that was selected and its quality rank.

All items that cannot be Grathmelded will have their rank set to C, while Grathmelded items will have ranks that go from C to S, with the higher ranks granting rarer and more powerful crystals. It also must be mentioned that there are several Grathnode Crystals that cannot be obtained through other methods aside from Recrystallization.
