Lyra's Item Search
Lyra's Item Search (リルラ採集, rirura saishuu?) is a gameplay system in Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia which allows players to obtain items from Lyra Ross Reitel at Town of Light and Magic Em Pheyna in exchange for Grathnode Crystals.
Summary
Lyra is a Teru Tribe girl who makes her living by using her abilities as a member of the Jemina school to teleport around Sol Ciel, and pick up whatever items she happens to find in these locations that she exchanges for Grathnode Crystals people give her, which she then gives to Spica Neal for Kitty Candy and money.
In Gameplay
The player gains access to this system upon reaching Em Pheyna for the first time and completing the Ordeal of the Moon, which involves defeating Flute Ross Loria in the Pheyna Temple. Upon doing so and visiting the Em Pheyna inn for the first time, they will be introduced to Lyra by Jack Hamilton, as well as given the explanation on this system.
Lyra can be dispatched to search in locations the player has previously visited, so areas the player hasn't visited yet cannot be selected to have Lyra search in them. Additionally, the number and quality of the items she brings back will be dependent on the level and quality rating of the Grathnode Crystal the player initially gives to Lyra, with better crystals resulting in more and better items.
Finally, Lyra will need some time to return from her search, which means the player will have to fight at least 10 battles anywhere in order for the search to be completed.
Difficulties and Items Gained
The items the player will receive from Lyra are calculated according to the following formula:
Grathnode Crystal Numerical Quality x Area Numerical Difficulty Level / 100
The result is then used to obtain the number of items and their rarity as per the tiers in the following tables:
